What is irony?  Alanis had no clue.

From Blackadder, we get this dialog:

Blackadder:  “Baldrick, have you no idea what irony is?”
Baldrick: “Yeah! It’s like goldy and bronzy, only it’s made of iron.”

In Persian irony is:  طنز or طعنه and “ironic” is: طنز آميز or طعنه آميز
