OK, maybe you don’t say “Blues” in Persian.  Abi’at

How about qam?  غم

Whatever.  The point is, holidays are over, guests have left, food was consumed, it’s back to work.  What a let down!  (Oh, hey, Happy New Year Everyone!)

And I have to get word out about this site (number one task on to do list, send out emails about fabulous new forums to people).  But am I in the mood for that?  NO!  I’m blue!

Part of me wants to be cheerful and not feel this way, but the more enthusiastic part of me wants to WHINE AWAY!

What’s Whine in Persian?

زوزه كشيدن ، نق نق كردن ، زق زق كردن، غرغر كردن، غر زدن، آه و ناله كردن

Great.  Lots of whining options.  I’m going to start with some zuzeh keshidan, do a bit of neq’ing and round it out with a good qor hitting.

Frickin New Year.  qor qor qor qor.  qor.  غر

Al qor = an Arab who whines about greenhouse effect.

Rezwhine Jan,

I hate to break it to you, but this is the farthest thing from a forum’s topic and the closest thing to a post on your personal blog.

The problem with Abi’at is that you’re adding the Arabic suffix ‘at to a farsi word Abi. Don’t.

دلتنگيهای پس از عيد

and this year i was kinda happy real life resumed. work and school keep me going, less time to think is great when all of your thoughts are destructive…

Yes, but you see how quickly I salvaged it and turned it into an exploration of whining vocabulary.  As long as you introduce new vocabulary, you’re covered.

So, instead of Arabic ‘at it should be simple Persian plural - AbihA?

ابيها
Or maybe kabudhA.  gonbadeh kabud - the blue/black dome.

saxt kabud dAram.  Or kabudam.
سخت كبوذم.
I’m hard blue.  Although I think that might mean “I’m very bruised”.

دلتنگيهای پس از عيد

That supposed to be some kind of link?  Didn’t take.  Oh, wait!  You weren’t referring to your website, deltangestAn.  That’s “deltangihA”.  Heart tightenings.  OK.  Aha.

Seriously?  You OK?  Hard to tell on the internet esp. w/ your dark humor.

Destructive towards what?  D-thoughts might be useful if you’re a demolition man.  Lots of things need to be swept away, beaten back down into elements and folded back into the matrix.  Clear the space for new construction.  It’s not necessarily a bad thing. At years end, this kind of housekeeping can be just the thing.

Hi Rezwan,

Sorry to hear you’re blue. Think of it this way, another year is over, so you’re another year closer to death…
did that make you feel better??? wink

best,
Zareh
